What is candy corn made of?

Candy corn is made of sugar, water, corn syrup, fondant and marshmallow. Colorings and flavorings may also be added. During the final stage, the kernels are spun in a giant tumbler to remove excess corn starch, which is used for the mold, and a shiny exterior is added with an edible wax. Candy corn was first invented in the 1880s, and now up to 35 million pounds are produced each year.
