What is a Razzie award?

Razzie Award is short for Golden Raspberry Award. The Golden Raspberry Awards is a ceremony historically held the night before the Oscars to recognize the worst in film for a given year. "Raspberry " refers to "blowing a raspberry". Each award is a golf-ball sized raspberry placed on top of a Super 8 mm film reel. The whole award is spray painted gold.

The 10 traditional Awards, also known as Razzies, include:

  • Worst Picture
    Worst Actress
    Worst Actor
    Worst Supporting Actor
    Worst Supporting Actress
    Worst Ensemble
    Worst Director
Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel
    Worst Screen Couple
    Worst Screenplay

The 32nd Annual Golden Raspberry Awards was held on April Fool's Day 2012 instead of the traditional eve of the Oscars. Jack and Jill became the 1st film in the Award's history to sweep all 10 Razzies in its categories. It only earned $74 million at the box office.
