There are actually too many features planned for iOS 6 to list them all, according to Apple CEO Tim Cook, more than 200 of them, but we can list some of the major features to expect.

One of the big ones is an all new Maps application designed from the ground up by Apple. It will offer incredible 3-D maps of locations, allowing you to look at all sides of an area and its buildings, along with turn-by-turn directions to help you get from place to place without requiring a dedicated GPS unit.

A nifty new feature called Passbook which can be used to collect, store, and intelligently display retail coupons, loyalty cards, boarding passes, and movie tickets.

The video chat service FaceTime will finally be available for use over the cellular phone networks, not just wi-fi.

Also full Facebook integration will be baked into the OS similar to the way Twitter currently is. You'll be able to post to Facebook from within other apps; no need to jump to Safari and go to Facebook.com to do it.
