Ophthalmic Tetrahydrozoline, also known as Visine, is used to relieve eye redness caused by colds, pollen, and swimming. Eye redness can also be referred to as bloodshot eyes.

Eye redness is a very common condition and usually relates to something else such as tiredness, dryness, substance abuse, allergies, cold/flu or trauma. It is caused by the blood vessels in the surface of the eye when they become become enlarged and dilated and is usually painless. Surprisingly, over use of Ophthalmic Tetrahydrozoline drops can actually make the eyes to appear even more bloodshot.

Recently, a 33-year-old Pennsylvania woman was charged with 10 counts of aggravated assault, 10 counts of simple assault and 10 counts of reckless endangerment after admitting to police that she repeatedly poisoned her boyfriend with Visine Eye Drops.
