Amanda Bearse (born on August 9, 1958 in Winter Park, Florida) has continued to do some acting and directing. She currently lends her support to AIDS-related charities as well.
In 2010 she married her partner Carrie Schenken and they have 2 children. She made headlines back in 1993 when she became the first primetime actress to "come out".
She got her professional start as Amanda Cousins in the TV Soap Opera All My Children (1982-1984), and appeared in movies and TV programs such as Fraternity Vacation (1985), Fright Night (1985), and Hotel (1986) before really becoming well known on Married with Children (1987-1997) as character Marcy D'Arcy.
Since the end of Married with Children she's appeared in three TV series: Nikki (2001), Here! Family (2005), and Drop Dead Diva (2011).
