What ended the hatfield mccoy fued?
The end of the Hatfield-McCoy feud (1863–91) was marked by the hanging of Ellison Mounts.
That year the Hatfield's attacked the McCoy family and burned down Randy McCoy's home. In the raid Randy's two children were killed and his wife was injured.
The Hatfield family members who were involved were tried and sentenced to life in prison while Ellison Mounts was to be hanged in 1889. Devil Anse McCoy chose not to retaliate and the feud ended after the final trials in 1891.
