What does the sloth mean?
A sloth is the world's slowest moving mammal, in fact they are so sedentary that algae can grow on their fur!
From this behavior comes the term sloth which refers to being disinclined to do anything, or exhibit spiritual apathy, and inactivity; the avoidance of physical or spiritual work. In the Bible, sloth is listed as one of the Seven Deadly Sins.
Although the word may have a negative connotation, the animal is one of the cutest and most cuddly mammals. Videos of baby sloths from Animal Planet's show Too Cute! Baby Sloths have recently gone viral, and people are going nuts over the adorable little creatures.
