In texting or instant messaging the letters "FWB" usually stand for a "Friend with Benefits." This typically refers to a couple that are not formally dating, officially simply friends, but they also engage in more romantic behavior when the mood strikes them. It's basically a casual relationship, in which the pair usually just hang out for companionship (the friend part), and occasionally allow things to become more intimate when they feel like it (the benefits)
