What does clinched wild card mean in the nfl? <WwW!>

A team clinching a Wild Card in the NFL means that the team will appear in the playoffs, but may not host a playoff game as a division champion or have a first-round bye. In the NFL playoffs, each of the two conferences has six playoff teams, four for the division champions and the two best teams that did not win the division. The best non-division winners are called Wild Cards. This year, in the NFC, the two wild cards will be the Detroit Lions and the Atlanta Falcons.
