On August 17, 2012 JPMorgan Chase along with Goldman Sachs, Ally Financial and other financial institutions were accused of overvaluing mortgage-backed securities. These securities were sold to Guaranty Bank which subsequently went out of business. These charges were brought by the FDIC. The securities in question were valued at over $5 billion.
