Washington’s second wife was Olivia A. Davidson. The two were married in 1885. They had two children, Ernest Davidson Washington and Booker T. Washington Jr. Olivia died in 1889.

Washington married Margaret James Murray in 1893. They had no children together. He died on November 14, 1915. Margaret lived until 1925.

Washington is making headlines as one of the subjects of a recent non-fiction book by Deborah Davis titled Guest of Honor: Booker T. Washington, Theodore Roosevelt, and the White House Dinner that Shocked a Nation. The dinner took place on October 16, 1901.
