What are some of Paul McCartney's nicknames?

The only nickname we could find for musician Sir Paul McCartney is Macca. It’s a common nickname in some English countries of Anglo-Saxon heritage for people who have a last name that begins with the Gaelic prefix Mac or Mc, which means “son of”. In Canada, the nickname Mac is usually used instead.

Supposedly, McCartney started to go by the nickname Macca after The Beatles broke up on April 10, 1970. Some say he earned the nickname as a school boy. Other famous people with the moniker Macca include singer Amy MacDonald and professional triathlete Chris McCormack.

McCartney recently made headlines after reaching his 70th birthday. He is currently preparing for a featured role as the final act at the July 27th opening ceremony of the London Olympics.
