Love pimples, or "love bumps," are words used to describe genital herpes. The type of herpes that they reference is the type one gets from engaging in unprotected sexual intercourse with someone infected with the HSV type 2 herpes virus.
It is said that there are no such things as getting pimples due to being in love. The "love pimples" may also be goosebumps. Goosebumps can be caused by increased heart rate, blushing, and butterflies in the stomach, which can all be linked to being in love.
