Currently FHA 30 year fixed mortgages have rates of 3.125%, and 15 year mortgages have interest rates of 2.625%. FHA 5/1 ARM loan rates are also at 2.625%.
FHA has always been known as consumer friendly, attracting first time buyers with their low down payment requirements, as well as their easier credit qualification requirements.
While these have historically been attractive to low and moderate income families, higher cost homes are now possible since the loan limit has been raised to over $729,000 in some areas of the country!
