Was sean connery in the olympics? What sport?

Sean Connery never participated in the Olympics, but was once a competitive bodybuilder and is said to have placed 3rd in the 1953 Mr. Universe tall man’s division. He was also an artist’s model at the Edinburgh College of Art, a laborer, a truck driver, a lifeguard, a coffin polisher, and a member of the Royal Navy. Connery eventually chose the life of an actor over playing professional football (called soccer in the U.S.) for the UK’s East Fife team.

His most recent project was the voice of Sir Billi in the family film with the same name. It was screened at the Sonoma Film Festival in April 2012.

A wax model of Connery’s James Bond 007 can be seen through September 5, 2012 at a new 007 exhibition in London celebrating “50 years of Bond Style”.
