Many articles were released referring to the rumor that Osama bin Laden is a product of the U.S. spy agencies and that the CIA helped create him. But sources suggest this is just one of the myths about Bin Laden.
According to an article published by The Guardian in 2011:
Bin Laden did not receive any direct funding or training from the US during the 1980s. Nor did his followers. The Afghan mujahideen, via Pakistan's ISI intelligence agency, received large amounts of both. Some bled to the Arabs fighting the Soviets but nothing significant.
In the news, a newly released document revealed that within two weeks of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, the head of U.S. special Forces Vice Admiral William McRaven issued orders that all photos of the body be either turned in or destroyed.
The Pentagon and intelligence community aren’t saying much on why the head of U.S. special forces ordered the destruction of photos showing the dead body of Osama bin Laden. Read more at CNN.
