Was Gordon Ramsay in the military at any time in his life before becoming a famous chef?
Gordon Ramsay was never in the military. He was born in Scotland in 1966. In his late teens he pursued a career as a professional football (soccer) player until an injury forced him to quit. He returned to college to study hotel management which led him into the kitchen. He worked in restaurants in England & France and became a head chef in 1993. In 1998 he opened his 1st restaurant. He continued onto recognition for his work in the kitchen as well as on TV on a number of restaurant/chef based series.
