On a 1040ez tax return on the first line of it for wages what does hsh before the income mean
“HSH” stands for household employee income. If a tax payer does not receive a W-2 for being a household employee due to not reaching the income limit of $1,700, that income must still be declared on line 1 of Form 1040EZ as “wages, salaries and tips.” The IRS also requests that the tax filer writes “HSH” and the amount not reported on Form W-2 in the space to the left of Line 1.
You can find the complete instructions to Form 1040EZ here. The tax deadline for 2012 is April 17, as the normal April 15th deadline falls on a Sunday and April 16th is a holiday (Emancipation Day) in Washington DC.
