The pill is a generic version of Percocet, which is a narcotic analgesic. Acetaminophen/Oxycodone is used in the treatment of moderately severe to chronic pain.
A report from the Journal of General Internal Medicine shows that patients receive less attention when it comes to opioid pain medications if they are black, poor or have less education, compared to more affluent patients. According to the University of Rochester Medical Center, they are the first to investigate whether aspects of socioeconomic status such as poverty, income and education levels also affects the prescription of opioid pain medications.
