Is there a vein in your ring finger that leads straight to the heart?

Long ago the Romans and Egyptians did believe that a vital blood vessel ran between the ring finger of the left hand and the heart, they called it "vena amori," or "the vein of love." This is why the wedding ring worn on that finger symbolized eternal love. Modern day medical science shows that there is no such vein, however the tradition of wearing a wedding ring on the "ring finger" still remains today.
