Is there a number you can call to listen to music on your cellphone through that call?
A great number to call to listen to music on your cell phone is a radio station. Many of them use their on-air programming as their hold music. It is not unheard of for people outside of listening range to call a station and just ask to be left on hold.
Popular songs that included phone numbers are 1981’s “867-5309/Jenny” by Tommy Tutone and 1990’s “911 Is a Joke” by Public Enemy. The Tommy Tutone song is about a girl only known by her name and number written on the wall. “911 Is a Joke” complains about the slow response to 911 calls.
Erik Satie is credited with being the originator of modern hold music. He felt music would someday serve only as a background while people were doing something else. Based on this philosophy, his music was minimalist and repetitive. Press “#” for more information.
