Is the show repo games fake?

The reality show Repo Games isn’t fake, a video crew captures the reactions of debtors as they discover their car is being repossessed. Real-life repo men Josh Lewis and Tom DeTone then give debtors the chance to win back their vehicle free and clear.

A debtor must successfully answer 3 out of 5 trivia questions to get his/her car back. The questions cover a wide range of topics, from pop culture, science, movies, and technology to various foods and drinks.

Spike TV filmed DeTone and Lewis repossessing 80 cars in Los Angeles and Dallas.

Sally Ann Salsano, producer of the series, says that the debtors are "not thrilled" when they find their car is being repossessed, but feel a little better when they realize that they have a chance to win back their car, free and clear of all debts.

The series aired from April 26, 2011 to September 6, 2011.
