Is multiple sclerosis curable?

Not medical advice: There is no cure for multiple sclerosis (MS); however, medications and physical therapy and other treatments can help relieve some of the symptoms, as well as slow the disease.

MS is an autoimmune disease that results in the body’s immune system attacking the brain and spinal cord. The disease is degenerative, so it gets worse as a person ages. Early onset symptoms include loss of balance, numbness, blurred vision, tingling and weakness in a limb.

In June 2012, Jack Osbourne, the 26-year old son of Ozzy Osbourne, announced that he has been diagnosed with MS earlier in the year. The average age of a newly diagnosed patient with MS is 37.
