Julia Louis-Dreyfus is not the daughter of Richard Dreyfus, but they are “very, very distantly related”. Julia is the daughter of William & Phyllis Louis-Dreyfus. Her grandfather, Pierre Louis-Dreyfus, was a hero of the French Resistance in World War II.
She first appeared on TV on Saturday Night Live and was with the show from 1982 to 1985. She was added as “Elaine” on the second episode of Seinfeld when the show’s executives thought the show needed a female to offset its three male characters. Look for her now in the HBO series Veep.
Julia celebrated her 52nd birthday at the recent Golden Globe awards. She was presented with a personalized bottle of champagne by Moet & Chandon Champagnes.
