Is john witherspoon dead?

We're happy to tell you that actor and comedian John Witherspoon (born John Weatherspoon on January 27, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan) is still alive!

Witherspoon was the victim of just another internet hoax, this one started on Twitter. He put this rumor to rest with a simple message "I ain't dead."

At 70 years old Witherspoon is still working, having appeared in the film A Thousand Words, released on March 9, 2012, and slated to appear in the movie Bring Me the Head of Lance Henriksen, and the TV series The First Family, later this year.

Witherspoon is the only person, other than Ice Cube, to have appeared in all three "Friday" movies, and he's rumored to be back for the 4th and final movie of the franchise, "Last Friday."
