Is it required by law that an employer provide a pay stub with an employees check?

Not Legal Advice: Pay stub laws vary by state. Many states, including New York, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Virginia, do require employers to provide pay stubs, listing the hours worked, wages earned, and any deductions from the check. These can be either an electronic statement or on paper. Some states, such as Florida, do not require employers to provide pay stubs, though they can still opt to if they wish.
