Is actor Ron Howard related to actor Jon Walmsley

No. They're not. They practically didn't know one another when they first met.

Jon Walmsley played as Jason Walton on the American television series, The Waltons for nine seasons.

Ron Howard and his father Rance Howard guest-starred in one of the series' episodes called "The Gift". Ron played as Seth Turner, and his father Rance played the role of Dr. McIvers.

Jon Walmsley reminisced about the episode:

"Ron Howard played my best friend, Seth Turner, who was dying of leukemia. I had always been a fan of Ron's from "The Andy Griffith Show" and had grown up with people telling I looked like him.

When I first met Ron on the set, his first words were, 'You were the guy everybody says I look like!' Ron later told me the "The Gift" was his favorite episode performance, and that he landed a starring role in "The Shootist", John Wayne's last film, as a result of producers' watching "The Gift".

Ron Howard was born in Duncan, Oklahoma. He's part of a theatrical family; his mother was an actress and father was an actor and director.

Howard appeared in his first movie, Frontier Woman (1956), when he was just 18 months old, and made his stage debut at the age of 2 in a production of The Seven Year Itch.

Jon Walmsley was born in Blackburn, Lancashire, England. His family moved to California when he was aged five, and he later successfully auditioned for the role of red-haired Jason in the series which ran from 1971 until 1981.

He is also an accomplished musician, having worked with the likes of Michael McDonald, Gregg Allman, Merle Haggard and Roger Daltrey.
