"Ron Howard played my best friend, Seth Turner, who was dying of leukemia. I had always been a fan of Ron's from "The Andy Griffith Show" and had grown up with people telling I looked like him.
When I first met Ron on the set, his first words were, 'You were the guy everybody says I look like!' Ron later told me the "The Gift" was his favorite episode performance, and that he landed a starring role in "The Shootist", John Wayne's last film, as a result of producers' watching "The Gift".
