In what year does the movie 'Alien' take place?
The Sci-Fi film Alien(1979) starring Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley takes place around 2122. However, there is a line by Carter Burke at one point in the film that places the setting in 2179.
The character Ripley is said to have been born in 2092 in Olympia, Luna. A very early version of the script had Ripley as a male character.
