How to make a passion mark
A "Passion mark," often referred to as a "Hickey" colloquially, is made by pressing one's lips to a part of the body, typically the neck, and gently sucking. This sucking action causes blood vessels under the skin to burst, in essence causing a bruise in the shape of the sucking lips. Over time the passion mark will fade away as the body heals; how long this takes depends on the individual. Hickeys will usually vanish at the same rate one finds that other bruises heal.
