How old is Ernest Borgnine?

Ernest Borgnine (born Ermes Effron Borgnine on January 24, 1917 in Hamden, Connecticut) lived to the ripe old age of 95, still working in the film industry!

Sadly the "unlikely leading man" passed away on July 8, 2012 in Los Angeles, California.

Borgnine got his start as a professional actor back in 1951 in the film China Corsair, and his acting career would continue through 7 decades with more than 200 film and TV credits to his name!

He was probably best known for his role of Lt. Commander Quinton McHale in the 60s TV series McHale's Navy (1962 to 1966).

In 2010 he starred in the big budget film Red which also starred such well known actors as Bruce Willis, Mary-Louise Parker, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, and Richard Dreyfuss.

Borgnine still has one film slated for release later this year, the comedy/western/drama The Man Who Shook the Hand of Vicente Fernandez.

He has top billing according to imdb.com, along with co-stars Barry Corbin, and Carla Ortiz.
