How much is gold, silver, and platinum worth by the ounce?

Current spot prices as of October 24, 2011 are $1,653.30/ounce for gold, $31.74/ounce for silver and $1,545/ounce for platinum. Gold has traded for as high as $1,900.30 per ounce; however, if you take inflation into account, gold traded for around $2,318 in 2011 dollars, 30 years ago. While the media has focused on increasing gold prices, many expect that silver prices will rise above $50/ounce within a year, due to the current state of the economy.
