Currently the spot price for Silver is $31.80 per troy oz in the U.S. Roughly a year and a half ago it was under $19, while in April 2011 it was nearly $50. While not as impressive on a percentage level, gold hit an all time high intraday on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, reaching $1,783 per troy oz whereas in January of 2010 gold was only around $1,140. The spot price for gold today is $1,651.70.
