How much does the United States spend annually on Foreign Aid?

Most "foreign aid" is actually defense spending. It is simply for the direct defense of countries other than the United States. This year, the U.S. will deliver economic and security assistance to 146 countries around the globe.

According to President Obama, foreign aid accounts for less than 1% of the US budget.
