How long is AIT for combat engineer in the Army?

To become an Army Combat Engineer requires 9 weeks of Basic Training as well as 6 weeks of AIT (Advanced Individual Training.) Further training continues throughout a Combat Engineer’s career. Acquired skills will include explosives, vehicle & weapon systems operation, combat construction and river crossing. Both classroom and field instruction aspects of Combat Engineer AIT takes place at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri.
