In electrolysis an electric current is sent through a thin electrode into the hair follicle's root to destroy it. Of course there are both pros as well as cons to this procedure.

On the Pro side:

• Overall, electrolysis has the best track record in removing hair over any other method.
  It can be used on more types of skin than laser hair treatment can.
  

On the Con side:

• Electrolysis requires as many as 30 sessions, so it is time consuming as well as costly.
  Hair that's been previously removed through waxing can become bent and harder to treat with electrolysis.
  Some people dislike the stinging, or pricking sensations.
