How do you make a plain pie crust
Plain pie crust recipe: Combine 3-1/4 cups flour and 1 tsp. flour in a bowl. Add 1-1/2 cups cold lard or solid vegetable shortening. Mix with your hands until coarse crumbs form. Add 4-5 tbsp. of ice water one tbsp. at a time, mixing to make a smooth ball of dough. Wrap in plastic. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Lightly flour a flat surface. For 2 crusts, roll each out into a circle 12-inches in diameter, 1/8-inch thick. Place one into a 9-inch pie. Place the other on top once filling has been added.
