To get to Carowinds from Columbia, South Carolina, you primarily take Interstate 77 North. From I-77, you take Exit 90 toward US Highway 21/Carowinds Boulevard. Then, take the first left onto US-21 North, continue on Carowinds Blvd and you will arrive at the theme park.
Carowinds was built in 1973, and sits on the state line between North and South Carolina near Charlotte, North Carolina. It was known officially as Paramount’s Carowinds from 1993 to 2006, but an ownership change now sees the park being called Carowinds today.
