How did Chris Colfer get that scar on his neck?

The scar on Chris Colfer's neck is from a surgery he had in 1998 at the age of 8. Colfer spent three months in the hospital recovering from the surgery in which infected lymph nodes were removed.

In 2010, he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Glee, but Chris lost to Eric Stonestreet from Modern Family. Chris did, however, win a Golden Globe that year.

Now he's released a children's book, The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell, which is number 1 on the New York Times Best Seller List.

It's a fairy tale mashup about a pair of twins that wind up in story land and go on a scavenger hunt through the land of Goldilocks and other damsels in distress, collecting things like a piece of bark from Red Riding Hood's basket, and strands of Rapunzel's hair.
