Has there ever been a tornado in the winter
Tornado season in the U.S. is March-August. Winter tornadoes are rare because tornadic thunderstorms thrive on moist warm air not the cold dry air of September-February. January 2012, tornadoes were reported in AR, TN, IL, and MS. Tornadoes also roared through AL killing a 16-year-old girl in the town of Clay and an 82-year-old man in Oak Grove. 100 others were injured.
