Has Jim Parsons won an emmy?

Yes, Jim Parsons (born James Joseph Parsons on March 24, 1973 in Houston, Texas) has won an Emmy, in fact he's won two Emmy Awards for his role as Sheldon Cooper on CBS' hit TV series The Big Bang Theory.

The series first aired on September 24, 2007, and just finished its fifth season finale on May 10, 2012. In January it was revealed that the series has been picked up for an additional 3 more seasons already (the series averages almost 14,000,000 viewers, and in 2010 it was the number 1 scripted TV series).

Fans will get a chance to see him on the "big screen" in the film, The Normal Heart slated for release in 2014.

At the end of May, Parsons revealed in a New York Times interview that he has been in a long term same-sex relationship for the past 10 years; apparently the fact that he was gay was not common knowledge.
