Do you dial *67 or *69 to make outgoing call private?

If you want to block your Caller ID for a specific call, you just need to dial *67 then enter the number you wish to call (including area code).

The words "Private," "Anonymous," or some other indicators will appear on the recipient's phone instead of your mobile number.

Please note that calls to 800 numbers and 911 can't be Caller ID-blocked.

*69 is used to call back the last person who called you.

A voice recording provides you with the phone number of the last caller, the date and time of the call, and the option to return the call automatically. If you want to return the call automatically, press 1.

Unwanted phone calls or random text messages seem to come at all hours. They bug you at work, interrupt your dinner, or wake you up when you’re sound asleep. Check out some tips on how to stop unwanted phone calls and text messages at Consumer.ftc.gov.
