No. Ex-Journey vocalist Steve Perry is still alive.
Perry left the band in 1987 after the album tour. He was struggling with some personal issues at the time - his mother was very ill, and he spent much of his time caring for her before her death.
He reunited with Journey in 1996 for the reunion album “Trial By Fire” but due to medical issues including a hiking accident and his refusal to undergo the hip surgery necessary to get him back onstage. Perry once again left the band.
The singer returned to the stage for the first time in 19 years when he joined Eels onstage during the band's show at the Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C. in May 2014.
