Sadly, Chris Kelly, one half of 1990s rap duo Kris Kross died at the Atlanta Medical Center on May 1, 2013 after being found unresponsive at his home. He was just 34. A spokeswoman for Atlanta's Fulton County police says his death is currently being investigated as a possible death overdose, because his mother told authorities that he became sick after using illicit drugs the night before he died.
Kriss Kross's (Chris Kelly and Chris Smith) claim to fame was their 1992 single Jump, which spent eight weeks at Billboard Hot 100's number one position. Their studio albums include Totally Krossed Out (1992), Da Bomb (1993), Young, Rich & Dangerous (1996).
Kelly's and Smith's last appearance together was during the So So Def 20th Anniversary Concert held at the Fox Theater on February 23, 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Of interest, celebrity news website TMZ claims to have obtained exclusive footage of Kelly kicking back with some friends just hours before paramedics took him to the hospital on May 1, 2013.
