Did dr. Phil really lose his license to practice psychiatry because of an inappropriate affair with a 19 year old patient?

Phil McGraw (born Phillip Calvin McGraw on September 1, 1950 in Vinita, Oklahoma) has had his share of scandals, but we could find no evidence of an affair with a 19 year old. He did, however, retire his Texas license for practicing psychology in 2006.

Dr. Phil earned his doctorate degree in psychology from the University of North Texas in 1979, and founded Courtroom Sciences, Inc., a full-service trial sciences firm in 1980. He started his Dr. Phil series in 2002, and is still hosting today.

Dr. Phil married his first wife, Debbie Higgins McCall in 1970, but they divorced in 1973; they had no children.

He married his second, and current wife Robin in 1976; they have 2 children together.

The Huffington Post is reporting that a man murdered in Surrey, B.C., appeared on the Dr. Phil show about women who marry impostors after his ex-wife claimed she lost $50,000 to him.
