SNL stands for Saturday Night Live which began airing in the mid 1970s as "NBC's Saturday Night," consisting of short sketch comedies aimed at the 18 to 34 year old demographic. The show was originally produced by Lorne Michaels, who stepped away from the show at the end of the decade, only to come back in the mid 1980s; he still produces the show today. The show is shot live, for 90 minutes, in studio 8-H at NBC's studio in New York City. The show has featured dozens and dozens of cast members, many of whom have gone on to fame in the movie industry, while some others moved on to other TV series.
