The Apple store is a group of retail outlets owned and run by Apple Inc., to sell their line of computers, iPhones, iPods, iPads, and other equipment for Apple made technology, as well as "Genius" bars where users can get help with their Apple equipment. The first Apple retail store opened on May 19, 2001, in Tysons, Virginia, serving the Washington D.C.-metro area. The second store opened later that day in the Glendale Galleria, near Pasadena, California. There are currently more than 300 Apple Stores opened around the world, and on December 9, 2011, Apple opened their "Apple Store, Grand Central," located in Grand Central Terminal in New York City.
